How Loop is helping teams like yours improve communication

We’ve rounded up our favourite workplace tools to boost productivity in your team.

There’s an abundance of tools for boosting producitvity these days. It’s important to consider several points when identifying tools that can help producitvity.

Remember, these tools are to help your team boost their productivity, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of causing fustration or the introduction of a steep learning curve. At the end of the day, you want these tools to benefit your team and not being counter product. Getting a strong buy-in from your team is a priority.

Make sure you do your research, and present the options to your team, outlining the pros and cons of each team. You can dicuss the pain points, where the tools will help them and areas where they have questions and concerns. Involving your team in every step of the process is important.

Let your team decide together, don’t force tools on them.

Points to consider when choosing tools:

  • The most obvious one, how much does it cost? Working out value-for-money can be difficult. Whilst you may not always get a direct return, consider how it can make your team feel, or whether it can remove stressful parts of their job. Even though the results may not be direct, over time they can be benficial over the long run.
At the same time, avoid buying anything flashy and expensive. Do your research - some tools have great marketing and really sell you into the dream - but is it really worth that price?
  • What is the learning curve? You’ve found this great tool and you’ve been playing around with it for hours. You’ve got a pretty good understanding of the product. However, will your team have to spend the same amount of time getting up to speed with tool? If it’s a one-off learning that saves a lot of time in the long-run then great. But if it requires every employee to spend a significant amount of time to learn the tool then they will likely lose enthusiasm quickly and more difficult to convince them to use it.
